Equine Transportation
MTPC does not operate out of a specific barn. Most of the mounted activities are held at Nashville's Percy Warner Park (PWP) Equestrian Center. The PWP barn houses some of the Metro Police horses, and the remaining 20 stalls are used for Pony Club camps and competitions so members do not need to trailer in daily. But those PWP stalls are not available for permanent, full time boarding.
Most MTPC members have their own horse trailers. New members who have yet to acquire their own trailer may contact existing members to arrange a shared ride for their horse, but be aware that the national Pony Club insurance does not cover any transportation risk for either the horse or member. This liability and supplemental medical insurance is only in place at the site of the mounted activity.
With the high fuel prices, members often coordinate shared transportation to the regional rally in Lexington, KY (250 miles from Nashville).
