Volunteer Policy

Middle Tennessee Pony Club operates through parent and member volunteer effort to deliver the quality programs and fundraisers throughout the year.

Effective 2009, the volunter policy requires a minimum of 12 hours per family per year.  Half of these 12 hours are required at the primary fundraiser, a USEA sanctioned Horse Trials event that is held on the 2nd weekend in October each year.  The remaining 6 hours may be served at the smaller fundraisers: spring Combined Training event, "Learn to Event" event, or August open cross country schooling days.  If you have a conflict with the specific date of these fundraisers, there are many supporting tasks that can be performed in advance.

The club requests an additional 18 hours of volunteer time in support of the programs and activities where your member child participates such as D camp, Rally Prep Camp, Upranking, Unmounted lessons, Specialty clinics, and holiday parties.

Each pony club family/member is required to attend 50% of the scheduled meetings to maintain their status as a "good member in standing" that is required for upranking or rally competition.  The meetings include mounted and unmounted meetings, preps ofr Quiz, rally meetings, and organizational planning meetings for the fundraisers.  Our goal is to offer at least 1 club activity each month for the purpose of building team camaraderie, developing horse management skills, riding skills, and to enhance communication within the club.
