Final Scores Learn to Event Event Hosted by the Middle Tennessee Pony Club Saturday, April 5th at Percy Warner Park (PWP)
Please join MTPC for its fourth annual event for young riders. This event is a one of a kind in the middle Tennessee area and tailored to introduce young riders and/or green horses to the fun and excitement of eventing.
The Learn to Event Event includes a traditional Event format and for the first time, a Novice level Combined Test Dressage/Stadium format. Riders may enter one of the following classes (full Class descriptions and applicable rules are provided below):
Class 1: Pre-Amoeba 12" maximum stadium jump height Class 2: Amoeba 18" maximum stadium jump height Class 3: Tadpole 2' maximum stadium jump height Class 4: Beginner Novice 2'6" maximum stadium jump height Class 5: Novice Level Combined Test (Dressage and Stadium Only) 2' 11" maximum stadium jump height
Opening Date: Wednesday, February 27, 2008 online entries accepted via: www.mtn-ponyclub.org
Closing Date: Wednesday, March 26, 2008 note, ALL fees, forms, Coggins, etc. MUST be to the show Secretary by this date.
Entry Fees: Classes 1 4: $40.00 Pony Club Members $55.00 Non-Pony Club Members Class 5: $25.00 Pony Club Members $35.00 Non-Pony Club Members Pinny Deposit: $20.00 per entry. Check is required on the date of the show which will be returned at the shows conclusion. Please do not send pinny deposit with entry.
Stabling: Limited stalls available at PWP for $25.00 per stall (to be paid at check in do not send check) Entrant must furnish shavings (stall floors are asphalt), feed and water buckets. Stall check-in from 4:00 to 8:00 on Friday, April 4th. Stall deposit of $30.00 required which will be returned upon satisfactory cleaning of stall. PWP has a large grassy area for trailer parking and working out of your trailer. No horses are permitted at the facility overnight unless they have stall accommodations.
Class Descriptions and Requirements:
Class 1: Pre-Amoeba schooling class grass reins permitted Dressage Introduction A test may be called out to rider. Martingales and kimberwicks may be used. Show Jumping maximum jump height of 12 Cross Country course will be roped off with jumps a maximum height of 12. There will be no water on this course. Trainer may be on course during ride. There will be no limit on refusals unless rider or horse safety becomes an issue. Rider must wear medical arm band.
Class 2: Amoeba schooling class - grass reins permitted Dressage Introduction B - test may be called out to rider. Martingales and kimberwicks may be used. Show Jumping maximum height of jumps is 18 Cross Country course will be roped off with jumps a maximum height 18. There will be no water on this course. Trainer may be on course during ride. There will be no limit on refusals unless rider or horse safety becomes an issue. Rider must wear medical arm band.
Class 3: Tadpole schooling class Dressage Introduction B - test may be called out to rider Show Jumping maximum jump height of 2 Cross Country course will consist of up to ten jumps with a maximum height of 2. There will be no water on this course. No trainer assistance during ride. Refusals will be limited to 4 per jump unless rider or horse safety becomes an issue. Rider must wear medical arm band.
Class 4: Beginner Novice Dressage Beginner Novice Test A - test may be called out to rider Show Jumping maximum jump height of 26 Cross Country course will consist of up to thirteen jumps at a maximum height of 26including a water jump. Refusals will be limited to 4 per jump, unless horse safety becomes an issue. Rider must wear medical arm band.
Class 5: Novice Level Combined Test (Dressage and Stadium only) Dressage Novice Test A Show Jumping maximum height of jumps is 211
Award classes will be determined based on the number and age of riders and will be communicated after entries close. Ribbons awarded to the top six finishers in each Class/Division.

The first Class will begin promptly at 8:15 on Saturday, April 5th.
The show will begin with Class 5, followed by Class 4, 3, 2 and 1, with the first event in each class being dressage followed by stadium and cross country (for all Classes except Class 5).
Ride times will be set for each phase of the event, and will be posted on the MTPC Web Site on Wednesday evening, April 3rd.

Entry fees for riders who scratch after March 28th will not be returned. Only exception is a letter from MD addressing riders health, or Vet addressing horses health. Horse substitutions (with valid Coggins) accepted until event start time. Start Times will be posted on MTPC web site by Wednesday, April 3rd. |
